Scrap the Boys - May Challenge

Boom!!! Now don't fall off your chairs but I am back scrapping! And although I never really stopped I did take a massive break from online scrapping and DT type work because I needed it and so did my family.  I still did dabble here and there in some scrapbooking but never really shared too much.

So lately I thought I really really needed to connect with like minded crafty peeps again as I have missed that a lot. So thought why not jump in a do a few challenges to get back out there.  Now I can't promises daily posts or anything but I will try and do a couple a month and maybe just some 'because' scrapping too.

So my 1st challenge site I visited was Scrap the Boys! And wow I was amazed and so inspired by this months challenge. Here it is...

Just loved the colours...some of my favourite colours to work with. Inspiration from this mood board came from the colours, also the paint strips which inspired me to make this layered paper background, the guys in sunnies and the leaves. So pretty much all of it! :)

So here is my layout.

'Guy Stuff'

Just using bits and bobs from years back that I have still hiding away in my scrap desk. Think this must be the 1st layout I have ever done in a long time that doesn't have flowers! But it kind of goes well with out my signature flowers hey :)

Think I need to hone in on my photography and editing skills of my layouts but there you have it. My 1st challenge layout I have done in many many years!

Not sure if blogs are still in vogue or if anyone reads them anymore...if you do stop by please leave me a little love or let me know how to share my work or what the goes it these days.

Hope you are all well and look forward to catching up in the scrappy world.

Hugs

My Last Blue Fern Studios Projects

Hello my crafty friends :)

This is my final projects for Blue Fern Studios.  My 12 month term finishes at the end of December and I can't believe how quick that 12 months went!

With my last 2 projects I used the new Vintage Christmas paper range. Its a beautiful paper range with such a range of colours to choose.

In my first project I was inspired by the gorgeous pinks, reds and aqua's. Such a pretty combination.

"Merry Christmas"

Lots of paper strips and fussy cutting...oh what fun! Chipboard pieces have been lightly painted in Gesso first and then covered with mists, inks and glitter :)

Paper: Vintage Christmas
Chipboard: Holiday Frame, Holly Sprigs, Word Ornaments

My second project is full of glitter and shine! I have used the new Imagine Ink Glitter range - Carribean and Pyrite on my chipboard pieces and a sprinkle here and there in my paper. I was truly shining after this project!!! :):)

"Magical"

Paper: Vintage Christmas
Chipboard:  Winter Village, Winter Titles, Winter Page Dangles, Christmas Ornaments, Beaded Strings

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you feel inspired to create this holiday season. Thank you Blue Fern Studios for having me on the team this past 12 months...its been absolutely fun!

Take care

Blue Fern Studios December Sketch

Hi everyone,

I can't believe its December already...my favourite but busiest time of the year!

Just quickly popping by this morning to share with you the December sketch for Blue Fern Studios.

How cute and whimsical is this sketch.  But as usual you don't have to use holiday theme chipboard or papers to participate. Its purely for inspiration.

My layout...

I decided to sort of stick to the sketch and even use the same chipboard pieces :):):):)

So its a little different for me but on the same hand I wanted to create a fun layout as its a photo of my boys enjoying their lollipops that their Nana gave them a couple of Christmas's ago now! Yes I am still trying to catch up on photos from way back then!

"Hip Holiday"

Lots of texture on this layout, glitter, Shimmerz, beads, texture and crackle paste, inks and mists. It was quite fun to put together!

All sketch rules and details can be found on the Blue Fern Studios Blog HERE.

Have a great day and happy crafting!

November Blue Fern Studio Projects

Hello!

I am here with you again today to share you my 3 projects I created this month.  I had so much fun using 3 different lines of paper and lots of gorgeous chipboard and the new range of Imagine Ink Mist!

My 1st project I used papers from the Frolic Collection..Gosh I could have kept on creating with this one...it is just devine.

I used the large Grunge Frame and cut it up and layered the strips on the base of my paper. I have painted them with Gesso to begin with then I have used Imagine Ink Mist in Sky and Winter Mint.

For my "arch" down the bottom of my layout all I used here was an off cut of one of the circle frame chipboard and used the same process but highlighted it with Imagine Ink Mist in Jingle Bells.

"XOXO"

I just adored the XOXO chipboard.  Again I painted it in Gesso first and then used some watered down paint to colour it.

My 2nd project I used the paper collection Paisley and Vine. Again such stunning and bright colours in this paper range.

Here I have used the Grid Pieces cut up randomly and layered over the base of my layout as well as the Deja Vu Luminaires Chippies and the word Love from the Adore, Love, Cherish word set. My chipboard pieces are covered in Gesso first and then painted on with some watered down paint.

"Love"

And lastly my 3rd project I used the beautiful Autumn Anthology papers.

After I created the texture on my background which included chipboard pieces from the Techno Squares set, I used the Imagine Ink Mist in Sky and randomly sprayed the background moving it around with some added water.

"Fun"

I loved using the Doily Bunting chipboard in this layout. I covered it in Gesso first and them inked the edges and then blended it with the Imagine Ink Mist in Sky.

The title "Fun" came from the word set "Crazy Silly Fun" and the frame around the photo is part of the Clip Frame collection.

Thank you very much for stopping by today.
Happy Crafting!

Friday Fun One :)

Hi my lovely friends :)

Long time between posts but life has a way of keeping me busy...plus I am nearly thinking blogging is a thing of the past??? Not sure if anyone really reads blogs anymore or maybe its just mine *grin*

Anyway I did this layout a month or so a go now (oops!!) just for fun.  I really really loved the Dear Lizzy Serendipity Collection...those sweet donuts, ice blocks, pinapple and confetti elements plus the mason jars are just ADORABLE!  Plus the colours just look stunning together.  I am becoming a bit of a purple/pink fan..the right shades of course :)

So now on to my layout....

"You're So Sweet"

Oh yes he was...nearly feels like such a long time ago that my baby was this small...just so wish time could stand still for just a bit!

Base paper is Studio Calico along with a mix of embellishments from Dusty Attic chipboard, Prima flowers, Manor House flowers and Websters. And the cute vellum bow from Rainbow Splendor.

I loved it so much that I am working on another sweet layout right now using this same collection.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by

October Projects for Blue Fern Studios

Hello everyone,

I am back with you today to share with you my October layouts I created for Blue Fern Studios.

For my 1st project I chose the Ombre paper Collection range again.  Kept it fairly simple as I wanted to the paper and chipboard to shine :)

"Cherish"

Paper: Ombre Dreams Collection
Chipboard:  Dot Grid Panel, Adore Love Cherish Words, Eclectic Hearts, Directions
Stamp: Forever Stamp

My 2nd project I created was using the Deja Vu paper collection. Lots of paper layers and chipboard and again I kept it fairly simple and didn't do too much to the chipboard other than some Gesso and Inks.

"Angel"

  Paper: Deja Vu Paper Collection
Chipboard:  Checker Bits, Baby Words, Deja Vu Border Chippie

My last couple of projects was using some scraps of paper and scraps of chipboard.  I never throw anything away...they can always be used for something :)

"Fabulous Beautiful Friend"
 Paper: Sanctuary Paper Collection
Chipboard:  Number Grid, Arrow Words

"Celebrate"

  Paper: Montage Paper Collection
Chipboard:  Turkish Panel, Deja Vu Tweets Chippie, Nested Circles

Thanks so much for stopping by today...happy crafting :)
